I think that the strengths of my self portrait are that all of the things that I drew represent what I am most passionate about so I could represent them all well. All of the pictures that are cut up show the different pieces of my life. In the pictures are the people I love while doing the things I love most. I don't think there is just one thing that comes through the most because I tried to balance the most important things in my life equally. I did this because there's more then one thing that means the most to me. I created a collage and dividing my head up into four different sections to create four different drawings. Lastly, the contrast in my self portrait creates emphasis because the black and white cut outs stand out.
I love your piece! the hair really puts boundaries to it and keeps it contained in a really creative way. You really get to know what your passions are through this picture
ReplyDeleteI really like how you included the most important things in your life inside your head, since those are really what you are dedicated to in life. By just looking at it, your artwork can tell a story in a short amount of words.
ReplyDeleteSarah! i loved your art! my favorite part was definitely your hair! From far away it looked like you had highlights but when you looked closer I could see all the pictures of your life! I loved the piece sign in the middle! I also liked the three dancers and the audience hahah (i am pretty sure you and me drew that the day we could not focus at all) Good Job I loved yours!!!
ReplyDeleteSarah I absoultely loved the hair that you made on your portrait. The pictures of you and your friends making your hair showed in a way that they framed your life, if thats the message you were going for anyways haha. I also really liked the idea of your face being a peace sign, I thought that was really unique. Good job.
ReplyDeleteSarah--
ReplyDeleteI loved how you couldn't tell that your hair was made up of pictures of you until you got close enough, that really provided a unique aspect in your portrait. It was almost as if, (intentionally or unintentionally) you showed memories of you through your hair. I also enjoyed how your face was a peace sign since I am quite a fan of those!
The way you make the hair out of picture really gave your portrait a great effect. It's cool that your portrait is different at different distances. I also loved that your face was a peace sign. That was a very cool and creative way to divide you face so that you could represent your self well.
ReplyDeleteI really liked you work of art Sarah! I really liked how only the part of the piece that had color in it was the drawings inside the face. It really emphasized how those things were some of the most important things in your life. The hair was also really cool! From far away it just looks like your hair is many shades of black grey and white but as you get closer to it you can see all of the little pictures with all of the different people and places that mean something to you. Also how the face was divided up not only gave clear sections to separate all of the categories of things you like but also it was shaped like a peace sign which look and represented something very cool.
ReplyDeleteLike I said in class, my favorite part was the hair because I felt that it was your memories.
ReplyDeleteI really like how the hair is pictures of you and your friend. It really sets a boundary for your picture. I also liked how all of the boundary's in your face created a peace sign.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed looking at your portrait. I like how you used the pictures of your memories in your hair which was very creative and from afar you would think that it was just hair with different shades but as you move in closer you notice the faces and pictures. I also like how instead of traditional facial attributes you used things that you loved and that were very important to you
ReplyDeletei love the hair and pictures idea. That part really made the picture. I thought it was really cool how you were able to disguise the peace sign into the face. i didn't notice it until Sonya pointed it out.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you incoporated everything you like to do in your face. I think it was very interesting how you used pictures of you and your friends and made into your hair it also showed you like to hang out with your friends.
